James E. Floyd, Sr. affectionately known as “Tuck Floyd”, transitioned from this life on May 17, 2025 at the age of 88.
James was born on September 4, 1936 to Buford and Inez Brown Floyd, both whom preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death a son, Percell Floyd, and siblings, Hubert Floyd, Mae Floyd Hudgens, Mary Floyd Thomas, Jerry Floyd and Ezzie Charles Floyd; one grandchild: Patrice Watford.
At an early age, James accepted Christ. James was a lifelong member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
James was educated in the Henry County School System. Once of age he became a skilled brick mason. James contracted with L.C. Hines and Billy Griswold for many years. James then stepped out on faith and became an entrepreneur. His company was James Floyd Masonary, which employed numerous people from the Wiregrass area for over fifty years.
Cherishing his loving memory is his wife, Carolyn of forty-two years; his children: James Floyd, Jr. (Michelle) of College Park, Georgia, Cynthia (Steve) Anderson of Dothan, Alabama, Gregory Floyd of Headland, Alabama, Kenneth (Yolanda) Floyd of Cowarts, Alabama, Gerald Floyd of Headland, Alabama, Cyrenthia (Willie) Ealey of Dothan, Alabama; stepchildren, Tifffany Watford of Dothan, Alabama, Chris Watford of Kinsey, Alabama and LaKeithia Dixon of Dothan, Alabama; a brother, Robert Floyd of Dothan, Alabama; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, that he loved and they loved dearly.
