Mr. James Ennis Edwards, age 80, of Ozark, Alabama passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 1 PM at J.L. Trawick Memorial Chapel, 1048 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
James Ennis Edwards was born in Skipperville, Alabama, on September 30, 1941. James attended school in Skipperville, Alabama. At a young age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Annie Dora McLeod Edwards. To this union, one daughter was born: Deborah Ann Edwards. The couple joined and were faithful members of St. Paul AME Church; where he served as an Usher and was a member of the male choir. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and was a part of the Ozark professional bowling league. He was a devoted husband, father, family member and friend to many.
James was preceded in death by his parents: Algertha Butler and John Henry Edwards; his guardian: Mozell Clark; wife: Annie Edwards; one sister: Myrtis Anderson; and one brother: Lovett Johnson.
He is survived by his loving daughter: Deborah (Rodrick) Edwards Morgan; one grandchild: Michael T. Barker, Sr.; five great grandchildren: Olivin Barker, Michael Barker, Jr., Emily Barker, Ethan Barker, and Deondre Mclendon; four siblings: Kelvin Butler, Cheryl (Earl) Bennett, Stepon (Valerie) Butler, and Catherine Fleming all of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law: Viola Byrd; special friend: Leray Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
