James Butler Life and Times

Mr. James Butler, age 74, of Saginaw, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Drive through visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11 AM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Mr. James Earl Butler was born June 12, 1946, in Dothan, Alabama, to James Thomas and Trimma Lee Butler.

James was a graduate of Carver High School in Dothan, Alabama.  He celebrated with the class of 1966 and 1967.  He was loving, kind, and caring and had a heart of gold.  When you saw him, he was full of joy and always had something positive to say.  He was full of wisdom and always gave out good advice.

James loved to dress up and he was always stylish.  Everything had to coordinate and he knew how to match from head to toe.  He loved his family, church, music, dancing and shopping.  James was always there for his family no matter what.  He loved us all unconditionally and he will truly be missed.

God called his name on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the age of 74 years.

James was preceded in death by his wife: Louella Butler; parents: James Thomas and Trimma Lee Butler; sisters: Macie Butler and Sandra Faye Butler; brother: Tommie Lee Butler.

He leaves precious memories with two sons: Dexter Fife and Ecka Henderson both of Saginaw, Michigan; daughters: Arnetha Henderson, Sandra (Lucious) Browning both of Saginaw, Michigan, Tina Gonzales of Louisiana, Paulette (Robert) Abrams of Texas and Wendy Fife of Saginaw, Michigan; stepchildren: Norva Lewis, Johnnie (Betty) Sewell, Luella Johns, Gloria Sewell, Marcha Maise (Kenneth), Lula (Willie) Pritchett and Michael (DieNe) Sewell; grandchildren: Christina (Jermaine) McDaniel, Brittnay (Rickie) Trader, Octavias Trader, Alexzail J.B. Trader, A'Niyah Trader, Ber'Naryah Little, Shakera (Marqueis) Hall all of Saginaw, Michigan and Brian Trader, Jr. of Texas; three great grandchildren that he raised: Cornell "Bozo" Henderson, Mario James-Earl Vine and Jermaine McDaniel, Jr. all of Saginaw, Michigan; sisters: Jessie Williams, Joyce Dawsey and Sharon (Maurice) Harris all of Dothan, Alabama; brothers: Charles, Joseph (Jackie) and Larry Butler all of Dothan, Alabama; Godchildren: Joyce (Jerome, Sr.) Patrick, Brian Patrick, Shatisha and Sierra Wilson; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends.
