Irene King

Ms. Irene King, age 68, of Shorterville, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020.

Drive through visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11 AM at Bellevue Church Cemetery, 844 - 898 County Road 177, Shorterville, Alabama 36373.

Irene King was born April 2, 1952 to the late Mamie Lou King and I.C. King in Shorterville, Alabama.

She joined Bellevue Baptist Church, in Shorterville, Alabama, at an early age and remained a member until her death.

Irene began her work career at West Point Pepperell in Abbeville, Alabama.  After 38 years, she retired in 2007.  In 2008, she began working at the Henry County Nursing Home until she retired again in 2014.  She met and formed many friendships during these times.

She loved her family and friends, shopping, watching movies, crossword puzzles and traveling with her kids and grandkids.  She lived a good life and always had a smile on her face.

On Sunday, September 20, 2020, GOD called our angel home.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Mamie Lou and I.C. King; a brother: Johnny C. King; an uncle: Levi King; and aunts: Ivola King and Fannie Williams.

She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memories, two devoted children, her daughter: Jackie King-Russaw of Atlanta, Georgia and her son: Christopher Sean Knight of Birmingham, Alabama; two grandkids: Khloe' Knox of Birmingham, Alabama and King Russaw of Atlanta, Georgia; a devoted brother: John King of Shorterville, Alabama; an aunt: Mamie King of Dothan, Alabama; nephews: Richard King and Jeffrey King of Tallahassee, Florida; Cheryl Parks and Patricia Parks of Dothan, Alabama and a host of other beloved relatives; special and devoted friends: Edna Anderson, Annie Ruth Hill, Doris Graham, and Les Davis.
