I. J. Lewis

Mr. I. J. Lewis was born May 30, 1935, toMr. Tenyle and Irene Lewis in Houston County, AL. 

He departed this life here on earth August 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. 

I. J. worked for over 50 years at Dothan Lincoln Mercury Dealership.  His favorite pastime was fishing, working on cars, cooking and relaxing as he got older.

Mr. I. J. Lewis was preceded in death by his father, mother and son - Charles Lewis; brothers: Perry Acker, Otis Lewis, and Owen Lewis; Sisters: Votie Sacher, Ozie Thomas, Ola Green, Equlla Teague, Inez Davis and Thelma Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, James (Cheryl) Snell, Bronx New Jersey; Jerry (Antoinette) Lewis, Union County, New Jersey; Sharon Reeves, Dothan AL; Mary Liz (Sylvester) Thrash, Webb, AL; Cotrina and ShaRhonda Thompson, Dothan, AL; brother, I.V. Lewis, Ashford, AL.; Eighteen grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mr. Lewis will be remembered for his love for family and his unique sense of humor.  His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
