Herbert Glenn Tarver, Sr., beloved husband, father, and friend, was born on October 12, 1934 in Dale County, Alabama to Jimmy Tarver and Lou Jeanne Rump.
Herbert spent many years living in Dothan, Alabama where he dedicated himself to his work at Stokes Floor Covering. He found joy in fishing, farming, and watching his favorite television show. Above all he treasured the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories that will be held dear by those he leaves behind.
In 1949, Herbert met the love of his life, Fannie Mae Tarver. He often remarked, “I fell in love with her immediately”. On May 17, 1958, surrounded by family and friends, they embarked on their journey together, traveling to Blakely, Georgia to commit their lives to each other. Their bond was unshakeable and in 1963, they welcomed their son, Herbert Junior, who brought immense joy to their lives. “Bubba and Fan” remain devoted to one another, celebrating 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Herbert “Bubba” will truly be missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. His kind spirit and unwavering love for his family will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
Herbert was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Mae Tarver; son: Herbert Tarver, Jr.; parents, Jimmy Tarver and Lou Jeanne Rump; siblings: Sarah Morgan, Essie Lee Walker, Annie Lee Love and J. T. Tarver.
He passed away surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
Herbert leaves to cherish his memory to his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty Barnes and Maggie Teague (Eddie); and a host to nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, family and friends
