Mr. Henry James Turner was born on September 26, 1954, the third child of the late Tommy and Fronnie Turner in Brockport, NY.
Henry graduated from Dothan High School in 1972. After graduation he joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1975. During his time in the service, he was stationed in San Diego, California and spent time in the Philippines. He later enlisted in the Navy Reserve until 1978. After leaving the military he relocated to Seattle, Washington.
In January 1979, he married Gayl May, to this union two beautiful daughters were born, Tanyeka and Cassandra.
Henry was a school bus driver and later transferred over to driving for the city transit system in 1986. He worked for King County Metro until his retirement in 2020.
Henry had a love for good music and sports. He would often bond with his daughters, discussing the latest hot artists and albums and enjoyed a little “trash” talking about football.
He passed away on May 5, 2025 in Tukwila, Washington.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents: Tommy and Fronnie Turner; two siblings: Tommie Turner, Jr., and Doris Jean Turner.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving and devoted daughters: Tanyeka and Cassandra Turner of Atlanta, Georgia (who he affectionately referred to as “Daddy’s Babies” or “Daddy’s Princesses”); stepson: Justin Turner of Conyers, Georgia and six grandchildren: Jocelynn, Jailyn, Ja’Sai, Justice, Jamison and Jovanni of Conyers, GA; three siblings: Billy (Gail) Turner of Seattle, Washington, Beverly (Mannie) Wooten of Apopka, Florida and Carol (Allen) Tillman of Ocoee, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
