Henry Lewis Burroughs (affectionately known as “Hank”) was born to the late Henry Burroughs and Mamie Horn Burroughs in Clarke County, Grove Hill, AL on January 8, 1943.
Henry confessed his belief in Jesus Christ and became a member of the Indian Ridge Baptist Church, Whatley, AL at an early age. He is a 1961 graduate of Wilson Hall High School, Grove Hill, AL. After graduation, he moved to Long Island NY where he resided for several years. Upon returning to Alabama, Henry and Adele fellowshipped with various churches and were drawn to join the Dothan Community Church under the leadership of Dr. W. Charles Lewis.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Adele; parents, Henry and Mamie and brother Eric.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: three daughters, Marie Wilder, Jeanette Wilder both of Long Beach New York and Mitzi (Keith) Boone of Roosevelt New Your; two sisters, Shirley Burroughs Browder, Montgomery, AL and Hilda Burroughs (Samuel Jr.) Jenkins, Daphne, AL; one sister-in-law, Ora Walker; brother-in-law Henry D. (Martha) Callins, all of Dothan AL; two granddaughters, Princess McPherson and India El; one grandson, Keith L.W. Boone; two nephews Samuel (Felecity) Jenkins, III and Eric Walker; a host of cousins. Two devoted friends, Arthur (Katie) Cooper and Elder Sinclair (LaRhonda) Keith; and the members of Dothan Community Church Family.
