On July 13, 1948 a bouncing baby girl was born to Myles Biden and Dora Lee Pittman.
She confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church; later in life, she became a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. At both churches, she was a faithful member and was very involved in the church operations. She did the church announcements at both churches. People looked forward to her announcements, because she always used the opportunity to give a good testimony!
She attended E.R. Grimsley High School in Ashford, Alabama. She held many jobs, but she worked at WexTex of Ashford as a secretary until her retirement.
She married Mr. John McCoy on January 24th, 1970, and they remained together happily until his passing on December 20th 2020. The marriage lasted 50 wonderful years.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roosevelt Pittman; sister: Mary Charles McCray; brothers-in-law: Milton Lewis McCoy, Mack Nelson McCoy, Willie McCoy and Earnest McCoy; sisters-in-law: Jessie Lee Frazier, Ella Faire Cook, Pauline Underwood and Rosie McCoy.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters: Carolyn McCoy (Lee Branch), Renae Foster (Bernard) and Cherika Underwood (Torreon, Sr.) Underwood; an aunt, Addie Allen; grandchildren: Kareeba McCoy, Kevonte McCoy and Torreon, Jr.; four sisters-in-law: Cleonia Pittman, Eunice McCoy, Lula McCoy and Mary Rene McCoy; brother-in-law, Oscar Underwood; special friends/family—The McCray and Black Families; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
