Gladys Elizabeth Coleman

Mrs. Gladys Coleman, age 89, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Friday, March 26, 2021.

Drive through visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the funeral home.

There will be a private service held for Mrs. Gladys Coleman's family.

Gladys E. Coleman was born April 29, 1931 to the late John and Emma Anglin.  She was educated in the Dothan City School System.  At an early age, she joined Green Valley Baptist Church; later known as Burdeshaw Street Baptist Church.  She was employed with the Houston County School System as a Bus Driver for many years, as well as a substitute teacher.  She later went on and founded Cookie's Corner Restaurant, which served soulful food to the community.  

She was joined in Holy Matrimony with Eddie Coleman, Sr. and to this union four children were born.

Gladys was preceded in death by her devoted husband: Eddie L. Coleman, Sr.; grandson: Larry D. Norton, Jr.; and great granddaughter: Ashanti Townes.

She leaves, to cherish her precious and loving memories, children: Eddie (Sylvia) Coleman, Jr., Jackie (Howard) Hall, Johnny Coleman, and Jennifer (Steve) Rivers all of Dothan, Alabama; sisters: Angerome Whatley, Betty Brooks, Louise Rivers, Elnora Barkley, Nobel Jean Kelly and Ophelia McMiller; brother: Lamar Anglin; grandchildren: Cassandra Norton, Pamela (Roy) Jordan, Eddie Coleman III, Keisha Coleman, Johnny Coleman, Jr., Nicole (Rachelle) Coleman, Muhammad Norton, Chandi (Marcus) Butler, Jamar (Shanae) Coleman, Brittany Rivers, RaShon Wimberly and Alicia (Travis) Manning; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and special friends: Lamar Speight and Mary Moore.
