Mrs. Gilda Cooper Walker, age 70, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021.
Drive through viewing will be Friday, January 15, 2021 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1 PM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Gilda Cooper Walker was born on December 2, 1950 to Georgian (Richard) Reeves and Woodrow Cooper in Greensboro, Florida.
She attended school at Grimsley High School and later graduated from Oak Crest Private School, in 1988. She met the love of her life, Clarence H. Walker, in her teenage years and later married on November 14, 1969. They were blessed with four daughters. Gilda worked a few years of her life in the food industry, retail sales and for the City of Dothan. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Her husband took very good care of her. She loved her puzzle books, fancy suits with the matching shoes, hats and handbags. She was quite the entertainer, who loved to make people laugh. She loved her family and enjoyed being around them. Gilda loved to sing. She enjoyed writing songs and performing them for her family. She was a member of the Saint Paul Baptist Church Senior choir. She was also a member of the "Combined Voices" Choir.
Gilda was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband: Clarence H. Walker; and a special uncle: Evance Jenkins.
She leaves, to cherish her memories, four daughters: Cassandra (Lerue) Freeman, Sharel (James) Parrish, Alicia Walker and Nalarence (Adrian) Davis; her sister: Naomi Wynn of Newark, New Jersey; her grandchildren: Corniellius, Ivin, Telvin, and Eboni Freeman, Jalarel and Ja'meah Parrish, Dominique, Da'miyah and Demarian Davis; one special uncle: Lawrence Jenkins; a special nephew: Ishmael Wynn of Longview, Texas; 13 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and special friends.
