George McDaniel Life and Times

George McDaniels, affectionately known as “Eddie” was born on December 3m 1941, in Early County, Georgia, to the late Gladys Jackson and Cato McDaniels.  He was also raised by his stepfather, Lawrence Jackson.  On October 8, 2025, Eddie departed this life in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he resided.

Eddie was a proud and hardworking man who spent decades in the railroad industry, eventually becoming the owner of S&T Railway where he was a subcontractor for Norfolk Southern Railway.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, daughters Delois McDaniels and Stephanie McDaniels, grandson Ketric McDaniels, brothers Ralph Jackson, William McDaniels, and Johnny Jackson, sisters Pearlene Cowarts, Marie Curry, Ossie Moore, Lillie Wynds, and Evelyn Lee, and a special nephew, Melvin Wynds.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Torrey (Audrey) Freeman of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren Shonta McDaniels, Amuri Marie McDaniels, Schenica Pearson, Torry D. Freeman, Jr., Shandrika Freeman, Tyran Freeman, LaQuita Moss, Zacchaeus Brown, Karrem Warren, Ki’Torrie Freeman, Jamarus Freeman and Ja’Maya Freeman; siblings Linda (Herman) Lett of Colquitt, Georgia, Bettye Williams of Blakely, Georgia; brothers-in-law Milton Wynds of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, David Williams of Columbia, Alabama and William Lee of Acworth, Georgia.

Eddie was an avid fisherman and hunter—two passions he mastered with remarkable skill.  One of his greatest joys was fishing alongside his baby brother Larry, creating memories that reflected their deep bond.  He was a Mason and belonged to Ebony Lodge #433 in Warner Robins, Georgia.  His charisma, generosity, and joyful spirit made him a beloved figure—always well-dressed, always smiling and most importantly he loved and cared for his family.

He leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including three devoted friends, Mr. Bobby Cumvy and Mr. O. T. Jordan and Mr. Perrell Williams who stood faithfully by his side until the end.

Eddie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
