General Flowers, Sr. Life and Times

General Douglas Flowers, Sr., known as Sonny, was born September 15, 1945 to the late Jonas and Ranie M. Flowers Jackson.  He was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama.

Sonny was very outgoing, loved to cook, have fun, and loved his music.  He retired from Dothan Glass Company where he had been employed for over twenty years.

One day during a conversation with his son, the question came up about his relationship with the Lord.  Sonny made the best decision of  his life and surrendered his life to the Lord that day.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; siblings:  Ethell Jackson, Frances Whatley, Madis Flowers, and Mary J. Turner, brother-in-law Tommie L. Turner, and a son Terry Irvin.

Sonny is survived by his sons, General Fitzgerald Flowers, Jr. and Derrick R. Flowers, and a daughter, Clarisa Flowers.  He also leaves to cherish his memories his grandchildren, Khalis Hall, Dominique Flowers, Ciera Flowers, Kourtney Flowers, Sonny Flowers, Derrick Flowers, Jr., Mariah Flowers, Sariah Flowers, ChruShard Williams, Terriana Edwards, and sixteen (16) great-grand children.    Sisters, Edna G. Jackson and Sarah N. Knight (Harvey) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close family friends.  A special thank you to Ms. Angela Montgomery and Anne Tiller for their continued heartfelt care of Sonny.
