Frederick Douglas Blount was born on October 14, 1951, to Mrs. Adele Dillard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adele Dillard and Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Blount; and his brothers, Mason Person, Douglas Dillard, and Willie Dillard III.
Fred was a proud graduate of Carer High School, now known as Bullock County High School. At an early age he confessed Christ and later became a devoted and active member of Eastdale Baptist Church. Fred was known to many as a fun-loving and spirited man who brought joy wherever he went. He had a deep love for fishing, dancing, and most of all, his family. His presence was warm, his laughter contagious, and his love for those around him was unwavering.
On Friday, April 17, 2026, Fred peacefully transitioned from his earthly life to his eternal home, where he now rejoices with his Savior.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted and loving wife, Sharon Adams Blount; five daughters, Priscilla Adams and Johnetta Adams of Atlanta, Georgia, Chemika Means of Montgomery, Alabama, Latoya Alexander of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Jacqueline Butt of Fort Riley, Kansas; three brothers, Vincent Dillard (Brenda) of Amarillo, Texas, Kenneth Dillard (Beverly) of Miami, Florida, and Eddie James Coleman of Midway, Alabama; five sisters, Robert Witherspoon of Midway, Alabama, Mildred Jones (Dennis) of Tampa, Florida, Elsie Dillard, Theresa Dillard, and Paulette Thomas (James) of Miami, Florida.
He also leaves five cherished grandchildren, Christian Ray Cassidy Alexander, Winters Bledsoe, Alexis, and Jr. Butt, along with a host of loving aunts, including Margaret, Gene, Scarvert, ad Betty Jo Banks; two special friends, Frank Warren and Casper Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Fred’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in all who knew and loved him.
