Frankie Mae Griffin, a beacon of love and spirited joy, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, in Alabama, at the age of 83. Born on October 18, 1942, in Georgia, she was a daughter to Willie D. Toliver and Inell Adams Stevens, both of whom preceded her in death. Frankie Mae's legacy is one of unwavering faith, infectious laughter, and an open heart that knew no bounds.
Frankie Mae was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. Her deep faith in the Lord, whom she affectionately referred to as her Master, guided her throughout her life and provided comfort in times of need. She was a woman who spoke volumes through her actions, never hesitating to extend a hand to those around her. Her generosity was legendary—she was known to give her last to anyone in need, embodying the very essence of selflessness.
Throughout her life, Frankie Mae found joy in the simple pleasures. She was an avid dancer, never missing an opportunity to celebrate life's moments with a dance and a smile. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took great care to maintain the bonds that held them together, ensuring that no matter the distance, they remained connected.
Sadly, Frankie Mae was preceded in death by her beloved children Peanut Griffin, Andrew Wade, and L.C. Wade, Jr., and her siblings Mary Lee Toliver, Freddy Toliver, Dorothy Stevens, and Jerome Stevens. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children Lemorris Griffin, Clinton "Gene" Griffin, Terry Griffin, Felisha Griffin, and Travis Griffin. Her memory will be cherished through the laughter and stories of her grandchildren Latoya Coleman, Prince (Kera) McHellon, Tiana (Rochun) Mathis, Lamar (Laniqua) Wade, Nakita Wade, Ja'von Wade, Ja'Riyah Wade, Jerodie Lavette, Jamarcus Griffin, and Major Griffin. Frankie Mae's legacy also lives on through her siblings Mary Frances Stevens, Elouise Stevens, Ruth Pearl (Rick) Sharp, Catherine Stevens, and Clarence (Jackie) Stevens, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all touched by her friendly and loving nature.
