Floyd Beacham Life and Times

Reverend Floyd Beacham, age 87, of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Trinity Missionary Church.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 11 AM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Floyd Beacham was born April 23, 1933 in Clayton, Alabama to the late Albert and Rachel Floyd Beacham.  His early childhood years were nourished at Houston County Schools.

Floyd truly loved the Lord and at an early age he attended New Mount Zion and Spring Gill Church in Clayton, Alabama.  He was a founding member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.  He was instrumental in working and laying the foundation (working with hands) building.

Floyd had a love for God, man and country.  He served in the US Army (Heavy Equipment Division), where he was honorably discharged in 1955.

On September 15, 1956, Floyd united in Holy Matrimony to Clarice Williams; they worked together, faithfully, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church until his assignment was completed.  He loved his church family dearly.  He was a Sunday School Teacher/Superintendent, BTU Superintendent, mentor to so many youth in the Lakeview community, Deacon, friend, and Pastor.

Another church that was dear to his heart was Friendship Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of Deacon Clarence Smiley.

Floyd was admired by all those who came in contact with him.  He was soft spoken with wisdom; he remained loyal to all the Lord had given him to do.  Floyd had a vision to expand the church and it came to pass.  He did what the word of God says in Ihabakkuk 22-3.  He wrote the vision, made it plain and it came to past.

Floyd was a leader and an awesome counselor for many people.  He had his own business, and provided community services for family and friends by the way of fixing cars and assisting with medical needs.  Floyd was a very dependable person.

He used his hands to build and repair.  His home was built with his hands.  Not only was he a builder of his own home and church, but the lives of people to encourage them to have a closer walk with the Lord.

Floyd made his transition from Earth to Glory on June 3, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two of his siblings: Mr. L.C. Beacham and Mrs. Willie Mae Hammonds.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister: Mildred Hudgens of Dothan, Alabama; children: Diann (Alfred) Jones of Montgomery, Alabama, Sheila Erkins of Dothan, Alabama, Lloyd (Lesia) Beacham of Headland, Alabama, Todd (Michelle) Beacham of Dothan, Alabama, Shandalyn (Willie Fox) White of Brundidge, Alabama, Gwendalyn Moore of Dothan, Alabama, Martha (Walter) Matthews of Salsbury, Maryland, Peggie (Billy) Renfroe of Dothan, Alabama, and Gregory Johnson of Chesapeak, Virgina; sister-in-law: Idell Beacham of Webb, Alabama, 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; also, a special lifelong friend: Mr. Wilbert Glanton.
