Ms. Fannie Mae McHellon, age 72, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4-6PM at the Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at North Highland Missionary Baptist Church; 407 Houston Street, Dothan, Alabama 36303 with burial immediately following at Gates of Heaven Cemetery; 2106 Starling Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303 under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care."
Fannie Mae Willis McHellon, affectionately called "Bay-Bay", was born July 8, 1950, to the late Sarah Mae Willis in Blakely, Georgia.
Fannie was raised by her aunt: Frances Scott, cousin: Lynn Hayward Scott, and great grandmother: Sarah Hamilton.
She was educated in the Dothan City School System; attending Carver High School and Dothan High School with the class of 1970.
Fannie Mae was a member of North Highland Baptist Church. She attended faithfully until her sight and health began to decline.
She was preceded in death by her mother; sister: Mary Lou Willis McGlown; brother: Bennie Joe Willis; and grandfather: W.J. Willis.
Fannie is survived by two faithful sons: Christopher McHellon and Phillip Foster; two brothers: Edward Charles (Kite) Willis and Charles R. (Kandy) Willis; two children, whom she reared: Burnell Foster and Chelsea Hill; niece and nephew: Carla McGlown and John McGlown, Jr.; special sisters for life: Val Wheeler and Louvenia McLeod; two special brothers and life long friends: Dean Scott and Walter McLeod; one whom she loved: Jalonni McMillon; a great and special friend: Marvin Ardis, Jr.; a special sister-in-law: Annie Gibbs; good friends: Freddie Houston and Kenneth Britt; several grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family.
