Ms. Evelyn Cummings, age 65, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
Drive through visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11 AM at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Evelyn Williams Cummings was born on July 20, 1955 to the late, proud parents of Arthur and Pauline Williams.
Evelyn attended and was a proud graduate from Dothan City Schools in 1973. She also attended Wallace Community College. She grew up under the leadership of Reverend Creeks at First Baptist Church. She accepted Christ, at the age of thirteen, at the North Highland Baptist Church and continued to follow Christian at Tabernacle Walk. She worked with the Youth Department song in the gospel choir until her health failed.
Evelyn worked for Jay-Verna Sal, Dr. and V. Reid and at the Division Center over ten years. She opened a home, for girls, called "The Cross Roads Home for Girls", for five years.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her sons: Albert A. Williams and Johnny A. Cummings; one granddaughter: Alaya M. Williams; one brother and sister-in-law: Edward A. Williams and Bishop Mattie Williams; two adopted sons: Jerome Davis and Michael (Mandell); special cousins: Pam and Belts Underwood from Spartanburg, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
