Ester Moore Life and Times

Ester Lene Moore -  A Devout Christian, Prayer Warrior, and Missionary whose life was a testament to the Power of Love, Faith, and Service. Born on a bright September day in 1951, embarked on her earthly journey in Enterprise, Alabama, and gracefully concluded it amidst the serene snowfall of Brandywine, Maryland, on January 6, 2025. She embodied the spirit of love and faithfulness, spreading warmth and hope as effortlessly as the sun dispenses light. Ester's life was a testament to the power of unwavering faith and the boundless capacity of the human heart to love, give, and uplift.

As the cherished daughter of Tempie Dean Moore and the late Leamon Moore, Ester grew up under the nurturing guidance of her parents where she inherited a legacy of resilience and empathy. Her light shone brightest as a beacon of positivity, bringing joy and comfort to those around her.  Ester's educational journey, marked by involvement and achievement, began in the halls of Carroll Street Elementary and Coppinville Jr. High School, culminating at Coppinville High School. She marched with the Mighty Green Machine, danced with the High Stepping Cooperettes (Majorettes), raised her voice with the choir, and advocated with the student government. The artistic and academic accolades she garnered were just a prelude to the person she would become. Her post-secondary education at Daniel Payne College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree, further shaped her character and cemented her commitment to lifelong learning.

In her professional life, Ester served with distinction at Fort Rucker, before transitioning to the Enterprise City School System, from which she eventually retired. Her passion for nurturing young minds led her to become a Foster Grand Parent, working with the OCAP at Coppinville Jr. High School. The affection and respect she received from students were a testament to her loving nature and her genuine concern for their well-being.

Ester's life could best be described through words like loving, faith-filled, and selfless. Her actions were anchored by her devotion to her faith, and she served as a Prayer Warrior and missionary, always ready to offer encouragement and support. She believed in the transformative power of kindness and lived by the inspiring words of Mother Teresa: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."

Her influence reached far beyond the confines of her immediate surroundings. In every role - whether as a daughter, mother, grandmother, colleague, or friend - Ester's radiant spirit never failed to leave an indelible mark. She understood that true fulfillment comes not from what we acquire but from what we give of ourselves to others. Her legacy is not merely in the roles she held but in the lives she touched and the love she sowed.

Ester Lene Moore's voyage through this life, while finite in days, was infinite in its impact. She demonstrated that a life well-lived is one anchored in purpose, generosity, and an unshakeable belief in the goodness of people. The story of Ester is not one shrouded in sorrow but illuminated by joy, not an ending but a continuous ripple of inspiration. It is a reminder to us all that love is eternal and that the human spirit, when anchored in compassion, is the most powerful force there is.

Predeceasing her in death are her father: Leamon Moore; her twin sisters: Celestine Moore Cooper and Earnestine Moore. Ester Lene was a beacon of positivity, that exuded a radiant spirit. She always would bring joy to those around her, and her legacy of kindness continues to inspire generations. She lived a life full of purpose, leaving an incredible mark on the community through her tireless work and genuine compassion.

Her family, a tapestry of life's greatest supporters, includes her loving mother, Tempie Dean Moore, cherishes a lifetime of joy and companionship with her daughter, holding dear every shared moment. Ester's loving devotion as a mother is a wellspring of inspiration for her children: Tara (Mark) Smith and James Strickland - who will forever be guided by her grace and strength. A devoted family woman, Ester's siblings: Raymond R. (Karen) Moore, Mary (Donnell) Warren, and Janice Whipple, along with her Godsister: Pamela Sikes - will fondly remember their sister's laughter and unwavering support. Her granddaughter: Ajahnique Smith, will carry forward Ester's legacy of faith and love. The Honorable Mayor William "Bill" Cooper, Sr., a loyal brother-in-law, joins a multitude of nieces, nephews, family members, and a community of friends in treasuring the memories and times spent with Ester.

Her journey has indeed been beautiful, and the legacy she leaves will continue to be a beacon of hope for all who had the privilege to know her. Ester Lene Moore, a remarkable woman whose life was a celebration of love and service, leaves behind a trail of light for us to follow. Her story is one of a life not just lived but lived extraordinarily - full of laughter, love, and irreplaceable memories that will be cherished forever.
