Mrs. Estelle Mcleod Newman was born December 18, 1936, to the late Jim Bob and Minnie Bell Walker McLeod in Skipperville, Alabama.
She attended D.A. Smith in Ozark, Alabama. Estelle joined Allen Chapel A.M.E Church in Skipperville, Alabama at an early age. She was united in marriage to Joseph Clarence Newman.
She was employed with GTE Telephone Company, White Knight Manufacturing Company, Ozark Nursing Facility and Day Laborer for the Morgan and Colliers Families.
Estelle had the gift of cooking delicious foods and sharing with the communities.
Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clarence Newman; mother: Minnie Bell Walker McLeod and father: Jim Bob McLeod; one sister: Minnie Pearl McLeod; three brothers: John Lee, Jim Franklin, and Emmanuel Noble McLeod.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memories two daughters: Pamela F. Newman of Ozark, Alabama and Cheryl (Tyrone) Mount of (Biloxi, Mississippi/ Spain); one son: Stanley (Stephanie) Newman of Ozark, Alabama; stepdaughters: Arlene Young (Jerald) Bryson and Darlene Young all of Hamilton Township, New Jersey; grandchildren: Jasmine F. Mount Biloxi of Mississippi, Jade Mount Baton Rouge of Louisiana, Tyrone P. Mount, Jr. of Biloxi, Mississippi and Kendra Newman of Mobile, Alabama; great grandchildren: Noah Keith and Nori Keith; two brothers: HB McLeod of Newark, New Jersey and JT (Beverly) McLeod of Midland City, Alabama; four sisters: Hermie Dean Miller of Newark, New Jersey, Joyce Mcleod and Willean Jones of Ozark, Alabama and Pauline (Samuel) Mitchell of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; one uncle: Lowell (Selma) McLeod Columbus, Georgia; one aunt, Matilda Coleman of Ozark, Alabama; special friends: Geraldine Hamilton of Savannah, Georgia, Rosetta McLeod Harris of Marion, Alabama and the Reverend Christopher Scott of Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
