Ms. Essie Cephus, age 83, of Fultondale, Alabama passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 313 Prairie Street North Union Springs, Alabama 36089.
Essie Cephus, fondly known as "Pip", was born May 20, 1937 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Sol and Rosie Shepard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Cephus and one child: John Willie Cephus.
She leaves, to cherish her memories, children: Patricia (Joseph) Armstrong of Atlanta, Georgia, Bonnie Cephus of Atlanta, Georgia, Tarey M. Cephus of Union Springs, Alabama and Olivia Cephus of Fultondale, Alabama; cherished granddaughter and grandson: Shanavia (Cedrick) Moore and Christopher (Clarese) Cephus, whom she raised as her children. Essie also leaves three brothers and two sisters: Jesse (Lorease) Shephard, Adolph Shephard, Harold Henry, Willie B. McKinnes and Brenda Ford. In addition to a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Essie was loved by all who knew her.
