“She will remain in our hearts forever”
Edna Miller White transitioned from this earthly life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her devoted family after a brief illness, as she embraced her new life in God’s glorious kingdom.
Born on May 22, 1944, in Houston County, Alabama, Edna was a fraternal twin and the beloved daughter of the late Era Mae Cotton (affectionately known as Momma Shug) and the late Josh Miller.
In the late 1940s, her family relocated to Slocomb, where she attended Geneva County Training School. At a young age, Edna accepted Christ and became a dedicated member of Countyline Missionary Baptist Church.
In February 1962, she married Azell White, and together they raised six children. Edna devoted herself to being a homemaker before entering the local textile industry, where she worked until her retirement. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling. Known for her lively and infectious personality, Edna lit up every room she entered. She cherished solving crossword puzzles, dancing, participating in pageant competitions, and engaging in various activities with her friends from the East Geneva County Senior Center.
Edna was truly a beautiful soul, both inside and out. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her four surviving children: Ann White, Ben White, Dianne Brown, and Billy White; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ruby Dismuke and Josephine Robinson; along with numerous family members and friends. Her love will continue to shine through them and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Until we meet again.
