Earline Jackson, age 97, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at Oak View Manor Nursing Home in Ozark, Alabama.
She was born on July 25, 1928, to Velvet and Catherine Rhymes. Earline was married to Emitt C. Jackson for 60 years, until his passing on May 3, 2004. She was baptized at a young age and remained active in church life throughout the years. For many years, she was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was also affiliated with Greater Bethel AME Church.
Earline was involved in several community and service organizations, including the Ladies Aid Society and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Ruth; her sister, Catherine; and her brothers, Clarence and Eldridge “Shimmie” Rhynes.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved brother, Willie Fred Rhymes, her sister, Ruth Rhymes, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Her funeral will be held at the chapel at Scotts Funeral Home located at 1048 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Ozark, AL at 10 am CT on Saturday, January 24, 2026. A viewing will take place prior to the funeral from 9 am until 9:45 am. Her body will be interred at Greater Bethel AME Church in Brundidge, AL immediately after the service.
