Dianne Thomas Life and Times

Mrs. Dianne Thomas, a cherished pillar of her community and a beacon of familial love, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on April 12, 1948, in the heart of Alabama, Dianne's life was a testament to the enduring strength and warmth of the human spirit.

Dianne's early years were spent in the nurturing care of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lovie and Willie B. Flournoy, in Dothan, Alabama. She was a proud graduate of Carver High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of dedication and work ethic. Dianne's professional journey was marked by an impressive 36-year tenure at Ansell Inc, formerly known in Dothan, where she was not only a respected employee but also a friend to many.

Her home was a hub of love and laughter, where she relished in the simple pleasures of life—savoring a good cup of coffee, keeping up with the news, and engaging in long, heartfelt conversations on the telephone with friends and family. Dianne's presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.

Dianne's legacy is carried on by her beloved family, who were the center of her world. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, LaTanya F. Thomas and Ka’Saunya R. Thomas, and her son, Xavier A. Thomas. Her love multiplied as she became a grandmother to Kadajia (Brison) Moore-Merritt, Kaysaun Moore, Camria McClyde, and Cameron McClyde, and then a great-grandmother to Rylah K. Merritt and Kasler E. Merritt. Each of them will carry forward the values and love she instilled in them.

Dianne was a sister to Farrell Flournoy of Huntsville, Alabama; Barbara (James, Sr.) Harvey, and Helen Bell of Atlanta, Georgia. Her life was further enriched by her special bond with her six nieces: Dionne Harvey, Amanda Flournoy, Angela Flournoy, Vickie Flournoy, Phyllis Flournoy, and Shelia Hawkins; and her five nephews: Larry Flournoy, Jr., Sean Williams, Rodney Harvey, Pierre Harvey, and Curtis Harvey. Together with a host of other relatives and friends, they formed the tapestry of her life's story.

Preceding her in death were her loving parents; her husband, Joe Henry Thomas; her sisters, Gloria Jean Rhymes and Jackie (Annie) Davenport; and her brothers, Larry Flournoy, Jimmy Flournoy, and Walter Jean Flournoy. Their reunion is a comforting thought for those who grieve Dianne's passing.

Dianne Thomas lived a life marked by unwavering commitment to her family, a tireless work ethic, and an abundance of kindness that touched the lives of everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated for generations to come, as her spirit continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt her love and friendship.
