Ms. Diann Deloise Pruitt was born on July 17, 1956 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Fred Jr. and Elray Lue Pruitt.
Diann gave her life to our Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. A faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord, Diann was a pillar in the church. She tirelessly served on the Nursing Guild team, Usher Board, Inspirational Choir, Gospel Choir, Mass Choir, Pastor’s Aid team and other various roles in the church.
Affectionately known as “Di'' to family and friends, Diann attended Dothan City Schools where her passion for higher education began to blossom. Upon completion of her primary and secondary education, she attended George C. Wallace Community College where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Education. She later attended Alabama State University before transferring to Troy University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. Diann was employed in the Eufaula City School System for over two decades.
She retired from her public service position in 2008 and began serving as a substitute teacher in the Dothan City School System for many years. A large portion of her tenure as a substitute teacher was carried out at Jerry Lee Faine Elementary School where she impacted the lives of countless children and created life long friendships.
Diann was called to her eternal rest on July 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that will forever beetched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Diann was preceded in death by her loving parents Fred Jr. and Elray Lue Pruitt, three brothers Robert Pruitt (“Kato”), Frank Pruitt and James Pruitt (“Junior”), six aunts Ludale Peas, Bonnie Lou Jackson, Helen Ward, Hazel Siler Williams, Mamie Berry, and Juanita Green, three uncles A.C. Siler, Jessie Siler, and Bobby Joe Siler and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind cherished and fond memories with her two brothers Wiley C. (Darlene) Smith, Troy, AL and Charles (Constance) Pruitt, Orange Park, FL, one sister Beverly (Kenneth) Jackson, Ashford, AL and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may we carry her legacy in our own lives forever.
