Deacon James Cabble, Jr. Life and Times

James Cabble, Jr. was born to James Cabble, Sr and Jessie Prittchet on October 6, 1935 in Lowndes County, Alabama.

James attended Calhoun High School in Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Alabama where he excelled as a basketball player

James was multi-talented, a great deer and wild boar hunter, fisherman, a skilled competitor in archery, a welder, and a concrete finisher where his skills allowed him to travel and work in the States of Virginia, North Carolina, and Alabama.

James accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Calhoun, Alabama. Later years in his journey he united in Holy Matrimony to Ellen Koonce and later joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Webb, Alabama where he served as a Deacon until his death.

James was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Viola Cabble Williams and Laurastine Cabble; two brothers: Leroy Cabble and Edward Cabble.

On Monday afternoon, January 16, 2024 God called his faithful servant home to rest. His loving wife, Pastor and nurse were at his bedside.

James leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife: Ellen Cabble; two sons: Michael (Wilma) Jordon of Montgomery, Alabama and Marcus (Anna) Sanders of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; one daughter: Ann Marshall of Montgomery, Alabama; two step sons: James D. (Teresa) Flowers and Willie Pouncey Underwood of Dothan, Alabama; four brothers: Earl (Pearl) Cabble of Fayetteville, NC, Earnest (Willease) Cabble of Burkesville, Alabama, Robert Cabble of Montgomery, Alabama and Bernard (Jessie) Timmons of Fayetteville, NC; three sisters: Juanita Cabble, Alexander of Chesterland, Ohio, Lola Cabble (Jerome) Williams of Montgomery, Alabama and Barbara Cabble of Montgomery, Alabama; one brother-in-law: Walter (Annie) Koonce of Cleveland, Ohio; two sister-in-law: Mable Chambers of Cleveland, Ohio and Teresa James of Cowarts, Alabama; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
