David Lee Jackson, age 72, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and quiet strength that touched the lives of many.
He was born on December 25, 1953, in Dothan, Alabama, to L. C. Beacham and Fannie Rose Jackson. From the beginning of his life, David carried a gentle spirit and a steady presence that brought comfort to those around him. He was known for his warm smile, his gracious manner, and the sincere way he cared for others. His life reflected the values of humility, devotion, and compassion, and those who knew him will remember him for the peace he brought into every room.
David dedicated his life to Christ at an early age at Nichols Chapel, now Stringer Street African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he remained a faithful and active member throughout his life. His church family was central to who he was, and he served with devotion on the Board of Trustees, with the Sons of Allen, on the Ushers Board, in the Men Choir, and in Sunday School. He also found joy in serving as the church cook, nourishing both body and spirit through hospitality and care. His service was not done for recognition, but from a deep and abiding love for God and for the people of his church community.
Throughout his life, David met challenges with remarkable grace. An accident during his tenure at Walmart resulted in a permanent disability, yet he faced that difficult chapter with quiet strength and gratitude. Even in the face of hardship, he remained a source of encouragement to others and continued to live with dignity and faith. He did not allow adversity to define him, and instead he met each day with perseverance, humility, and trust in God’s care.
David found joy in the simple blessings of life. He especially enjoyed a good dessert, and he treasured time spent in the company of friends. Among those friendships, he held a special affection for Rose, also known as Teddie, Gilmore, whose friendship he cherished deeply. He valued companionship, conversation, and the comfort of familiar faces, and his presence was a gift to those who shared life with him. His kindness was steady and sincere, and his gentle heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: L. C. Beacham and Fannie Rose Jackson. He is lovingly remembered by his brother - Kenny (Christine) Jackson; his sister - Bridget Beachum; his niece, nephews, cousins; and a wide circle of friends and church family who will miss his warm smile, steadfast faith, and gentle heart. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of his life and the many ways he showed love through action, presence, and prayer.
