To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven.

A time to be born: Daniel Gillespie was born July 4, 1934 to Charlie and Daniella Gillespie of Macon, Mississippi.

A time to love: Daniel joined Mount Olive Baptist Church in Macon, Mississippi, as a child.  He accepted Christ under Reverend Grubbs at Stringer Street AME Church.  He was a trustee and member of the Sons of Allen.

A time to plant: Daniel got his GED in the army and retired after 20 years of faithful service.  He also retired from Michelin Tires after 15 years.  After Daniel's retirement in 2004, he married the love of his life Mary E. McNeal on January 19th.

A time to laugh: A joyous occasion for Daniel was sharing everyday with the love of his life and her children: Valerie (Jimmy) White and George (Kelli) Perry.  He was most proud of his sweet granddaughter: Emma Perry, who he lovingly nicknamed "baby rat".

A time to embrace: He loved to make and share coffee with is sweetheart Mary.  He would kiss her everyday and tell her that he loved her with all his heart.

A time to pluck: Daniel has lived for over 50 years in Dothan, Alabama.

A time to die: God saw that the roads were getting rough and the hills hard to climb, so He gently closed Daniel's eyes and whispered "peace be thine" on Tuesday, July 8, 2021 at about 7:30 in the morning.

A time to weep: The family members proceeding Daniel in death are his siblings: Adlisie, Eddie, Bessie, Fannie Bell, Warren, Grover, Issac, Charles, and Marie.

A time to mourn: Daniel is survived by his wife: Mary Gillespie; children: Donald, Brenda, Arlene, and Charles; and a host of family and friends including: Dorothy, Sam, and Harold, Jr. of Mississippi; Felix and Alfred of New Jersey; Willie James, Gladys, and Eugene of Ohio; Minnie of Kentucky; Cecil of Tennessee; and "Critty" of Dothan.

A time to sing: When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, though has taught me to say, It is well with my soul.
