Damon Glasgow Life and Times

Damon Marcel Glasgow graced this world with his presence on September 29, 1973, in the charming city of Dothan, Alabama. He was the cherished son of Bailey Glasgow, Sr. and Cynthia Weems Glasgow.

Affectionately referred to as "Dang-Dang," Damon embodied the essence of leadership, mentorship, and wisdom, offering guidance to those navigating the complexities of life. He carried the aura of a guardian angel, fiercely protecting those he held dear. Yet, for those fortunate enough to know "Dang-Dang," his vibrant personality was truly larger than life. A master of humor, he had an uncanny ability to bring joy and laughter, ensuring that smiles were abundant and laughter erupted from the depths of your being. His passions included music, culinary delights, sports, and the company of people.

Damon received his education within the esteemed Dothan City School system. Throughout those formative years, he cultivated a profound passion for sports. His athletic journey began with peewee football at the Dothan Boys Club, followed by three years at Honeysuckle Middle School, and culminated in four years at Northview High School. He proudly belonged to the Dothan 100 Club, a distinguished leadership organization for young men. His classmates recognized his vibrant spirit by voting him Most Spirited, a title that resonated beautifully with his lively personality. Additionally, he pursued further education at Wallace Community College.

His professional journey commenced in his youth at Conestoga Steak House, followed by Wesley Place, previously known as Wesley Manor, the Food Bank, Wholesale Wood, Stevens, and AMX Transport. Ultimately, he discovered his true calling within a work family at Buffalo Rock, to whom he remained steadfastly loyal and devoted, reciprocated by their unwavering support. We extend our heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to each of you for the kindness and assistance extended to our family.

In the later chapters of his life, Damon was blessed to discover his soulmate, Sydney, and uniting in marriage with her brought him unparalleled joy. Throughout their eight splendid years together, they cultivated a love that inspired everyone around them. Their union was characterized by laughter, companionship, and steadfast devotion, serving as a testament to the belief that it is never too late to attain genuine happiness.

Departing this world before Damon is his adored sister, Buhlinka McGlown Glasgow, and his treasured grandmother, Irene Folmar - as well as with his paternal grandparents: Eloise Chambers and E. Glasgow.

His enduring legacy will be carried forward by his devoted wife, Sydney Glasgow - along with his children: Brandon, Ellana, Caleb, Joshua, and Austin. He is also survived by his mother, Cynthia Weems Glasgow (Herbert), his father, Bailey Glasgow Sr., his brothers: Elder Bailey Glasgow, Jr., and Kendall Coleman; his affectionate uncles: Charles and his wife, Keron, as well as Bruce Weems. Additionally, he leaves behind his dedicated godmother, Recy Morrison, his in-laws, Robert and Kelley Cook, his caring sisters-in-law: Casey Cook and Gina Jenkins, and his brother-in-law, Rob Cook.
