Cora Lee Vaughn was born on September 10, 1937 to Richard and Mizzie Clayton in Barbour County, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmie Vaughn, who affectionally called her “Shug”; daughter and son, Diane Marie and Donnie Woodrow Beacham; sister, Mary Davis; brothers: Richard Clayton, Jr., Terry, and Author James Clayton; granddaughter, Rosalyn Crawford; and great grandson, Cornelius Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories a very loving daughter, Lillie Melvin (William); granddaughters: Erika Turner, Meredith Timpson (Willie); grandsons: Anthony Melvin, Vincent Melvin (Shavonne); ten great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews: Linda, Stephanie, Shawn, Larry, Jeffery, Nate Ward; sister-in-law: Ethel Vaughn of Manhattan, New York; also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Look the tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself with be with them. l And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed way.
