Mrs. Cleona Flemmings, age 89, of Newville, Alabama passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020.
Drive through viewing will be Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 1 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11 AM at St. Peter Church Cemetery in Headland, Alabama.
Mrs. Cleona Rhodes Flemmings was born on July 5, 1931 to the late Sebron and Nora Lee Rhodes.
During her early years, she devoted her life to Christ at Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama.
Cleona later joined St. Peter A.M.E. Church, where she served as a devout Missionary Society Leader, Sunday school teacher, and choir member for many decades.
Mrs. Cleona loved the Lord. She impacted her strength, grace, and wisdom upon many individuals.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Sebron and Nora Lee Rhodes; her husband: Major Flemmings, Jr.; her daughter: LeClesha Janae Flemmings; her grandson: Jason David McDaniels; four brothers: James Earl Rhodes, William “Dee Dee” Rhodes (Terry), O.C. Rhodes and James Robert (Charlie Ruth); one sister: Jessie Lee Rhodes Carter (Charles).
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters: Beverly Jackson and Deborah Reaves both of Newville, Alabama; five grandchildren: Kimberly (William) Tacuri of Atlanta, Georgia, Shamia McDaniels of Atlanta, Georgia, Mark E. (Requana) Reaves, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, Celona Cotton and Carlos Reaves both of Dothan, Alabama; fourteen great grandchildren: Jasen, Erviya, Marquis, Kervin, Jalen, Carlos, Jr, My’Ana, Mari, Mason, Arela, Moses, Mina, Jase and Camryn; three great-great grandchildren: Jaree (Legend), Jeremiah (Juelez) and Ava; one sister: Rosetta (Paul) McClemore of Trenton, New Jersey; four brothers: Grover (Mavis) Rhodes of Mesa, Arizona, Earnest (Jennifer) Rhodes of Dothan, Alabama, Rex Rhodes of Campbellton, Florida and Jimmy (Cleothra) Rhodes of Newnan, Georgia; four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Flemmings, Mae Mitchell, Mae Nell Rhodes all of Dothan, Alabama and Janice Rhodes of Headland, Alabama; three special and devoted friends: Marion Spann of Dothan, Alabama, Pinkie May and Vivian Johnson both of Newille, Alabama; and a host of other relatives and friends.
