Christopher Bighem Life and Times

Christopher E'Lan Bighem, 52, of Dothan Alabama, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Born on November 26, 1972 at Fort Rucker, Alabama, Christopher was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, He was a man of deep integrity, kindness, and strength. He was married to his beloved wife, Kia for 25 years—a bond built on love, laughter, and unwavering partnership throughout many struggles. 

Christopher had a passion for helping others in need. He was a regular blood donor, deeply involved with helping tge local Animal Shelters and the homeless population. He was known for his sense of humor, work ethic, generosity, and his unconditional love for the family he created. He touched the lives of all who knew him and many who will never know his name.

He was preceded in death by his son Christopher E'Lan Thomas, his mother Peggy Bighem, his niece, Paige Rembert, his grandfather Joe Bighem, and his great grandmother Fanny Bighem.

He is survived by his wife, Kia Bighem, his sons Marcus Rives and PVT2 Joseph Bighem, his daughter (in-law) Jacquelyn Johnson, his sister Adrienne Bighem Whiters, and his beloved grandchildren Layloni, Londyn, and Laithan as well as many family and friends. 

A celebration of Christopher's life will be held on the 4th of July weekend at Lifesouth Community Blood Center in Dothan, AL (date to be announced). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to your nearest blood donation center, local animal shelter, or a local homeless community in honor of his memory.

As an ARMY Veteran, his greatest wish was to see MORE LOVE & LESS HATE in his beloved country. My greatest wish is to see this become his legacy.
