Mr. Chester Vickers, age 77, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Monday, September 6, 2021.
Drive through visitation will be Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11 AM at United Christian Fellowship of Dothan Church, 208 E Lafayette Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Chester Vickers was born to the late Ander Vickers and Agnes R. Vickers, on January 3, 1944.
Chester, with very little education, gave assistance supporting his siblings. Growing up being a great softball player, his favorite position was pitcher. For many years, he coached his own boys and girls softball team. He was an inspiration to everyone he met and very well known. His time was dedicated to assisting others in need.
In the late 60s, Chester was united in Holy Matrimony to Louise Jackson. He worked for Hathcock Roofing and Remodeling for many years; mastering to own and operate his own Roofing company for 25 years until his illness at the age of 76.
He leaves to cherish his wife, for over 50 years: Louise J. Vickers; children: Ruby (Marshall) Vickers, Earnest Vickers, Jonathan (Eleanor) Vickers, Kimberly Thomas and Roshawn Vickers of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren: "Big Baby" Quintina, Whitney, Jatavious, Sienna, Quanna, Tyjawon, and Kimbella; six sisters; three brothers; three aunts: Willie Dean Craddock, Daisy Sowell, and Mary Sowell; one aunt-in-law: Minnie P. McCray; one special cousin: Queen Jackson; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and many special friends.
