Charles Rose

Mr. Charles Rose of Dothan, Alabama departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the age of 72.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Georgette L. Scott's Memorial Chapel; 814 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303 with burial immediately following at Saint Peter AME Church Cemetery; 1289 Blue Springs Street, Clio, Alabama 36017 under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care."

Charles Rose was born to the late Abbie Rodger and Lewis Rose, Sr. on January 8, 1950.

Charles gave his life to Christ at a young age where he was a member of Hutchinson Street Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He would later join and become a faithful member and servant of Saint Peter A.M.E. Zion Church in Clio, Alabama. Charles attended Booker T. Washington School, where after graduating, he would join the Unites States Marine Corps Reserve Forces. He was honorably discharged after receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Purple Heart.

Charles departed this life on November 8, 2022 peacefully at his home.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, devoted wife, Bernella Rose; siblings: Willie Mae Rose, Lilly Hudson, Lewis Rose, Jr., Gladys Smith-Dumas, Rosalie Rose, Virginia Fonville, Mary Louise Blair Davis and Jack Williams.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories two children: Byron Rose and Alisia Rose; sisters: Lorene Rose and Josephine Blair; two granddaughters: Ashleigh Porterfield and Erin Jackson, a host of loving and devoted nieces. nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
