Cecelia Annette Taylor, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and godmother, was born on the 21st of May, 1966, in Dothan, Alabama, and was called to her Heavenly home on the 4th of November, 2023. She returned to her Creator in the same town where she first saw the light of day, completing life's circle in a manner as natural as the way she lived her life - with grace, faith, and love.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Taylor, and her stepfather, William Steve Lewis; godmother, Mina Dickens. She leaves behind a constellation of family members who were blessed to be a part of her life. She is survived by her loving mother, Geraldine Lewis, and her siblings: Darren (Gladys) Taylor, Sharon (Robert) Marshall, LaRhonda (Joe) Tyer, William Taylor, Kimberly (Walter) Brown, and Tomekia (Rufus) Marshall. Her special goddaughter, Janiliyah Thomas, held a unique place in her heart; a god sister, Vanessa Dickens.
Aunt Cecelia, as she was affectionately known, will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Quatina, Simone, Kenya, Yalonda, Jonte', Kiara, Kennie, Patrick, Shawn, Jarvis, Tori, Onterio, and DJ, as well as her twenty-six great nieces and nephews. Her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends will carry her memory in their hearts.
Cecelia was a proud alumna of Dothan High School, graduating in the class of 1984. She spread her wings at Alabama State University, where she excelled academically and personally, obtaining many degrees and leaving a lasting impact.
Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, serving as a loving and devoted Church Secretary and taking on other roles at North Highland Missionary Baptist Church of Dothan, Alabama. She was a faithful and devoted member of North Highland Missionary Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Saint Mary District Association. Cecelia served her communities in numerous ministries, touching countless lives with her faith and devotion.
Cecelia Annette Taylor was a woman of deep faith, boundless love, and immense generosity. She lived her life as a testament to the power of faith and the strength of love, touching the lives of all who knew her with her warmth and kindness.
As we celebrate the life of Cecelia Annette Taylor, let us remember her as a beacon of love and faith, a woman who cherished her family, served her church, and loved her God. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew her, a lasting testament to a life well-lived.
