Carman McKinnon Life and Times

Carmen LeTessia McKinnon, better known as "Tessia," was born to the proud parents of the late Charlie C. McKinnon and Icey Pearl Brooks on February 19, 1975. She departed this life on February 26, 2026, at the age of 51. She was preceded in death by her father; her daughter, Catrell D'Yani Ford; a brother, Charlie Parnell McKinnon; an uncle, Tommy Lee Brooks; and grandparents, Isaac "Lil" Brooks and Ethel Mac Brooks. Tessia received Christ in her life at an early age and joined Wings of Deliverance Community Church in Headland, AL.

Tessia graduated from Dale County High School where she was a member of various clubs. After graduating from school, she began working with the Town of Midland City Summer Programs and was a willing worker on many occasions. Her journey later began in Healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant where she quickly became known for her gentle spirit with patients and strong work ethic. Through hard work, faith, determination, and a servant's heart, she faithfully cared for others with compassion and dignity. Through years of devoted service, she saw a greater need and founded her own Home Healthcare Business, continuing her mission to provide quality, heartfelt care to families in need. Turning her passion for helping others into a lasting legacy of service, she also worked with Dollar General stores in the past year. She was a hard worker who took on many jobs during her lifetime to support her family.

She leaves to mourn, cherish, and celebrate her memories: 4 Sons: LaDavious "Tootie Paul" Dizreon McKinnon of Dothan, AL; Adonovan Jermaine Beaty of Hawthorne, FL; Montayvious "Jabo" Keemun McKinnon of Gainesville, FL; and Robert Charles Warren of Dothan, AL; 1 Daughter: Aprella Elizabeth Ford of Dothan, AL; 3 Grandchildren: Brayln Beaty, Kairo McKinnon, and Kamari McKinnon; A loving and devoted Mother: Icey Pearl McKinnon of Midland City, AL; A God-mother: JoAnn Grimsley of Midland City, AL; 2 Brothers: Eric (Denise) McKinnon of Dothan, AL; and Calvin Baker of Ozark, AL; 4 Sisters: Marquita McKinnon, Jasmine McKinnon, Kenike Shipman, and Kenyetta McKinnon of Ozark, AL; Uncle and Aunts: Clarence Brooks, Debra (Charles) King, Katrina Agee, Mary Player, Laura Stewart, Wanda Brooks, Elaine Covington, and Angelues Thornton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, the Headland Community Church Family, and many friends.
