Mr. Carl McCray, age 90, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Monday, July 12, 2021.
Drive Through viewing will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 at Georgette L. Scott Memorial Chapel, 814 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303; burial will be follow at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Dothan, Alabama.
Mr. Carl O’Neal McCray was born in Henry County on January 5, 1931 to the late Lloyd Lee McCray and Easter Truitt Stringer.
Carl and Minnie moved to Dothan, Alabama in the late 1950's and began a family having four daughters. Mr. Carl later on started working as a Brick Mason for many years until his health begin to go bad. He was a devoted husband to his wife Minnie P. Jackson McCray for 72 years and a loving father to his daughters.
Mr. Carl loved the Lord and worshiped remotely with family up until the day of his death.
He is preceded in death by his father: Lloyd McCray; his mother: Easter T. Stringer; his brother: Joseph McCray; his oldest daughter: Annie P McCray Hayes; granddaughter: Ursula, Dashia Hailey, Jessica McCray and Percy Gill.
Mr. Carl McCray departed this life to be with his eternal Heavenly Father on July 12, 2021 at 4:53 AM.
Mr. Carl leaves to cherish his precious memories with several loved ones his wife seventy-two years: Minnie P. Jackson McCray; daughters: Barbara (Grover) Pierson, Linda (Larry) Banks all of Dothan, Alabama and Carol (Jessie) Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; son-in-law: Charles Hayes of Dothan, Alabama; his loving grandchildren: Zavier McCray, Zaccheaus McCray, Erica (Scott) Faulk, Christen Gill, Daphne (Steven) McCray Franklin, Larry Banks, all of Dothan, Alabama, Senica (Rob) Zmich of Atlanta, Georgia, Phillip Hailey of Sanford, Florida, Lawrence Banks, Lance Banks of Dothan, Alabama, Brandon (Shaunesia) Smith of Pinellas Park, Florida; fourteen beautiful great-grandchildren: Atyia McCray, Xavier McCray, Azavia McCray, David McCray, Ariel Caliste, Zaddria McCray, Zaccheaus McCray Jr., Antonio May, Marion Turner, Joshua Gill, Jakeia McCray, Jakorey Corbitt, Jaleel Smith and Braylon Smith; a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; a special thanks to the ladies at Southern Care Hospice for all of there dedication and hard work during his transition to a new life.
Mr. Carl McCray will be missed dearly by everyone but we know that God needed this Angel more in Heaven than here on earth, I love you granddaddy and until we meet again continue to rest in peace. Love your granddaughter Daphne..
