Mrs. Bobbie Nell Hollis, 91, of Dothan, AL entered peacefully into eternal rest at home on June 2, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born December 30, 1934 to the late Edward and Carrie Bell Johnson.
She accepted Christ at an early age joining the Center Baptist Church in Newville. Upon marriage she joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she remained an active and faithful member until her health no longer allowed serving as a youth Sunday School teacher, in the adult choir, on the Women's Auxiliary, and various other capacities.
She was a graduate of Rosenwald High School in Newville, AL. She was employed for 20+ years as a Supervisor at Judy Bond Blouse Factory in Ozark, AL before retiring. She loved flowers, gardening, baking, cooking, and most of all talking and laughing with family and friends, whom she loved and cherished. She was married to the late Lawrence E. Hollis on Sept. 11, 1954. Their union continued for 61 years during which six children were born.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Angela Speed; son, Donald Hollis; a great granddaughter, Akira Hollis; daughter-in-law, Lessie Hollis; four sisters: Jeanette Johnson, Bernice (Woodrow) Carter, Cleoline (Robert) Harris, and Freddie (Coleman) Moore; three brothers: Willie S. Johnson, James Johnson, and Earl Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Frazier Glover.
Mrs. Hollis leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted family: Four Children: Lesia Hollis, Terry Hollis, Shavora Graham, and Amanda (Ed) Sampson; Four Sisters: Betty (Charlie) Thomas, Virginia Glover, Minnie Blythers, and Ester (Larry) McNealey; One Sister-in-law, Vivian Johnson; Nine grandchildren: Roderick, Rhonda, Megan, Thomas, Darrod, Jeremy, Amaya, Amaelia, and Amari; 17 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
