Bishop Roy White Life and Times

Bishop Roy White, age 80, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Bethesda Apostolic Faith Temple, 800 Lennox Avenue Dothan, Alabama 36303.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11 AM at Crestlawn Cemetery.

Bishop Roy White was born to the late Walter White, Sr. and Eva Ree White, on November 30, 1940, in Smithsville, Alabama.

On March 19, 1959, Bishop White was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mother Ruby Lee White.  Over the course of their 46 year union, Bishop Roy and Mother Ruby White were blessed with six loving children: Elizabeth, Marilyn, Jimmy, Paul, Teresa, and Wayne.

Bishop White accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was called to preach the Gospel at a fairly young age.  He spent over 50 years ministering and mentoring people near and far.  He was never reluctant to lend a helping hand, as his heart was too big for his body.

Outside of doing God's work, Roy worked diligently 37 years for Coleman's Trucking Company and another 20 years for Dothan City School's Transportation System until his retirement.  He was well loved and respected by all of his coworkers over the years.

On September 7, 2012, Bishop White joined in union with Evangelist Linda Baxter and was united with her up until his passing.

Bishop Roy White was escorted into Heaven's Gates to receive his crown of life on February 21, 2021 at 3:35 PM, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Everyone will always remember his generosity, level of perspective, and the love he had for his children.

He leaves, to forever cherish his memories, wife: Linda Baxter White; children: Elizabeth (Willie) Smith of Dothan, Alabama, Prophetess Marilyn Baytops of Columbus, Ohio, Jimmy White of Douglasville, Georgia, Paul White of Birmingham, Alabama, Teresa Thomas and Bishop Wayne (Dorothy) White both of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren: Ron Baxter, Myesha Baytops, Jimmy White, Jr., Jermal White, Marquez White, Jaleen Thomas, Tamika Baytops, Olivia White, Terrance (Tiffany) Bryant and Kristal (Courtney) Graham; great grandchildren: Jamir Yasin Baxter, Essien Baxter, Joshua Bighems, Alayla White, Ja'Kobi Thomas, Za'Den Thomas, Juddah Bates, Joshua Bates, Jah Nai Bates, Zavier White and Alexander White; brothers: Bishop Walter White, Jr., Joseph White, Bishop Robert White and Pastor Jimmy White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
