A very  special niece and Nephew Heath and Accacia Cody and Valerie Session.  Idell Beacham Aunt.

She also surived by step kids Vincent (Angela) Hogans of Jacksonville, FL; Vernon (DeAnna) Hogans of Abbeville, AL and one daughter Veronica (Dexter) Grimsley of Newville, AL;

A proud graduate of Carver High School in 1964, she carried the Carver High spirit throughout her life. She  graduated from Troy University (Dothan) with a degree in Psychology. Bettye worked at Southeast Alabama Diversion Center for numerous years helping our city’s youth and later retired from the Dothan City School System in 2011. She also served as a clergy at Southeast Health (formerly Southeast Alabama Medical Center). An avid prayer line participant, she was a member of the Aglow Prayer group, she was also a part of many singing groups over the years. Bettye had a passion for cooking with her dressing, sweet potato pie, and pound cakes being the best in the wiregrass.

            She leaves behind a legacy as a beloved mother, sibling, aunt, cousin, friend and valued member of the Dothan community. Bettye leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul, the imprint Bettye leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid and a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

There was a bond between Monica & Accacia with Bettye and there saying was every time they spoke the end of there conversation  was ( would you like some giblet gravy and sweat tea)
