Mr. Bert Brinkley was born on February 9, 1948, in Dothan, Alabama. He was the second son born to the union of the late Mr. Lonzo and Norma Brinkley.
Bert took final steps of his life journey Friday May 24, 2019. He was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1966. After completion of high school he spent many years driving and delivering goods in and through out the Dothan Area.
In the mid 70’s he relocated to Warren, Ohio there he begin driving long haul rigs, his travels took him through out the Northeast and Mid Western areas. Later in life his semi retirement years he worked as a general laborer. Bert lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger he couldn’t befriend, he was a die hard Alabama football fan, his favorite saying was “ROLL TIDE”.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lonzo and Norma Brinkley; son: Bernard “Bo” Brinkley: one sister: Easter Mae Brown; four brothers: Oscar, Willie (Roster), L.C (Mose), and Henry Brinkley.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories left to be cherish his daughter: Kimberly Brinkley-Jones (Carlos) Troy, Alabama, one sister: Margret Galvin (Ira) Quincy, Florida; one brother: West Brinkley Fairbank, Alaskas; grand children: Kennedy and Karah Jones, Troy Alabama, Brittany and Carmilla Brinkley, Dothan Alabama; nieces: Dr. Teretha Olds (Walter) Graceville, Florida, Juanita Davis Detroit, Michigan, Ruby Brown Dothan, Alabama, Janice Brinkley Newark, New Jersey; nephews: Joe Ben Jones, Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Brown Vacaville, California, Romaine K. Brinkley Fairbanks, Alaskas; one sister-in-law: Judy Brinkley, Warren Ohio. He will be truly missed by a host of other family and friends.
