Ms. Bernice Lewis was born on April 20, 1932 to the late Gust Wright and the late Johnnie Mae Wright in Midway, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama; Pastor Walter Ellis where she joyfully served as a member of the senior choir. She was a graduate of Bullock County High School
She later joined the police force in Tuskegee, Alabama. She was a talented seamstress and baker she started B&B Tailoring. She is also a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She also was the owner and operate a Construction Company, and she also worked as a Dispatcher at Tutwiler Prison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Mrs. Nina Bell Pritchett and Mrs. Mary Wright; Teeda, as she is affectionately known, will be most remembered for the love and devotion shown to her niece the late Mrs. Betty Dotson
She passed away on October 9, 2021 in Salem, Oregon.
She is survived by her brother: Reverend Rogers Wright (Wanda) of Bonaire, Georgia; three nieces: Tamika, Bakkey and Tamirah two special friends: Andrea Mitchell and Frances Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins which included: The Scott's, The Long's, The Douglas's, Georgia, New York and Alabama.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 11:00 AM at the Mason Cemetery in Union Springs, Alabama; under the direction of the caring staff of Scott’s Chapel Hill Mortuary “Because We Care”.
