Bernice Jackson Life and Times

Mrs. Bernice Jackson, age 78, of Webb, Alabama departed this life on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Dothan, Alabama. Funeral Arrangements will be announced at a later date under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the church.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11 AM at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 5 Piney Grove Church Road, Webb, Alabama 36376.

Burial will immediately follow the service at the church's cemetery.

Sister Bernice Lovely was born on January 29, 1944 to Daniel L. and Jewel Taylor Lovely.

She received her education within the Houston County school system in Ashford, Alabama.  She went on, in later years, to receive her Bachelor's of Arts Degree from the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California.

Sister Jackson accepted Christ at an early age, becoming a member of the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Webb, Alabama.  She was a member of the choir, where she is most remembered for her God given talent of singing.  On her move to Pomona, California, she became a member of  South Hill Presbyterian Church; where she was a member of the Usher Board, served as a Deacon, Elder and director over Music and Worship.  Returning home in 1999, she rejoined the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Webb, Alabama.  She was the Chairperson of the Building Fund Committee, (Purpose to build the Family Life Center, member of the Missionary Society, Women's Ministry, Senior Choir and Pastor's Aide.

Sister Bernice Lovely and Freddie L. Jackson was united in Holy Matrimony in April of 1973.  God blessed them with three children: Warren, David, and Freddie, Jr.; as well as stepdaughters: Deborah Edwards and Carlisa Edwards.

Sister Bernice Lovely Jackson was preceded in death by her loving parents: Daniel L. and Jewel Taylor Lovely; and her husband: Freddie L. Jackson, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Warren Keith (Deborah) Jackson of Webb, Alabama, David L. Jackson of Newnan, Georgia, and Freddie L. Jackson of Riverside, California; stepdaughters: Deborah Edwards and Carlisa Edwards of Columbus, Georgia; two grandchildren: Alisha Jackson of Nashville, Tennessee and Avarian Jackson of Webb, Alabama; one brother: Daniel B. (Mary) Lovely of Semmes, Alabama; one sister: Yvonnie Walker of Milton, Florida; a God sent daughter: Dorothy Neal; a dedicated Pastor: Pastor Alfonso Neal; dedicated cousins: Landa C. and Betty Barnes; like a little sister: Evelyn Hayes all of Webb, Alabama; special friends: Stacey Thomas of Webb, Alabama and Brenda Green of Dothan, Alabama and a very special friend: Vicki Nebedum of Fontana, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
