Beatrice S. Brantley

Mrs. Beatrice Brantley, age 89, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021.

Drive through visitation will be Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11 AM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Beatrice Skipper Brantley was born on August 29, 1932, in Newville, Alabama, to the late Clyde and Maggie Lean Skipper.  She was a graduate of Newville Rosenwald High School.  She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Newville, Alabama.  She relocated to Vero Beach, Florida, but returned to Dothan, Alabama and united with the New Bethel M B Choir and was member with Circle #2. 

She was a Primary Teacher at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Day Care and she worked at Farrah's Day Care and Williams Day Care for many years.

She departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Westside Terrace Health Care.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Choice Eugene Brantley; parents: Clyde and Maggie Lean Skipper; five sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by her six daughters: Sheryl Lean Melton of Montgomery, Alabama, Jessie Kay Brantley and Anita Carol Cummings both of Dothan, Alabama, Amy Karen (Marrion) Bass of Gordon, Alabama, Carllean (Kenneth) McLeod, and LaKenda Shanea (Daniel) Jackson both of Dothan, Alabama; two sisters: Eunice Floyd and Merler Mae Davis both of Dothan, Alabama; one brother: Jerome (Jewel) Skipper of Enterprise, Alabama; four sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Brantley of Vero Beach, Florida, Bonnie Patterson of Richmond, Virginia, Laura Skipper of Dothan, Alabama and Edith Skipper of Atlanta, Georgia; 13 granddaughters, 14 grandsons, 11 great grandsons, 14 great granddaughters, one great great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
