April C. Brooks Douglas

Mrs. April Douglas, age 39, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Friday, August 30, 2019.  Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 1 PM at Georgette L. Scott's Memorial Chapel, 814 Headland Avenue Dothan, Alabama 36303. Burial will immediately follow the service at Balkum Cemetery in Columbia, Alabama.

April was born on October 9. 1979 to the late Homer an Lueverne Brooks. She was one of their four siblings. 

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and attended Balkum Chapel Baptist Church, Brown Cross Road.

April was a graduated of Headland High School, Headland, Alabama. She earned her Associate Degree from Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. She later studied to achieve her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Troy University in Dothan, Alabama. She was employed by the State with the Department of Human Resources, Dothan, Alabama, until the declining of her health. April was a loving kind and caring person. She inspired the lives of the ones whom came into her presences.

She was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Henry Brooks; a great nephew: Montrez Thornton; maternal grandparents: Mr. J.T. and Cassie Mae Flucker; parental grandparents: Mr. Homer and Emma Brooks.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband: Brieon Douglas; her loving sister: Carolyn Brooks-Harris and a caring brother: Christopher (LaToya) Brooks; a sister-in-law: Dena Brooks; a nephew: Jonathan Thomas and a niece: Clarissa Robison; a great niece: Kadence’ Brooks; and a host of aunts, two uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. 

April had two special friends for many years: Shavone Andrews and Dominish Gibson; including her puppies: Max, 17 years and Prissy 15 years. The family love you and will always cherish your memories forever.
