Mother Annie Jean Newby-Bell was born July 21, 1942 in Houston, Alabama to the late Harvey Lee Newby and Lorine Stringer-Newby.
Growing up in a Christian household, she accepted Christ at the age of twenty-one under Elder Eva White in Anderson, Indiana. Annie was educated in the Madrid High School.
On May 21, 1966, she was united in Holy Matrimony to a handsome young man Bishop Charles Henry Bell and the union was blessed with eight children. They shared a special bond and loved each other unconditionally.
Annie is known for her hard work and unwavering dedication she was employed at Westex, Atwell, Ansell, Akdan and London International. She joined Smithville Missionary Baptist Church, Apostolic Faith Temple, Adams Street Church in 1965 and a devoted member at the Pentecostal Deliverance Faith Temple # 1 in Dothan, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her father: Harvey Lee Newby; one daughter: Dianne Lingo; one sister: Gracie Mae Newby-Jones; and two brothers: Willie D. Newby “Bim” and Eddie Lee Newby “Duck”; son-in-law: Earnest Lingo); brother-in-law: Alfred Jones; and one sister-in-law: Fannie Newby.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving and devoted husband: Bishop Charles Henry Bell of Dothan, Alabama; her loving mother: Lorine Stringer-Newby of Dothan, Alabama; seven children's: Lonnie (Angela) Charles Pruitt, Angela V. (Matthew) Bell-Jones, James E. (Cassie) Newby, Nathan Charles (Latioshia) Bell, Gwendolyn A. Bell, Vashita L. Bell and Yashica O. (Danielle) Bell; special grandchildren's: Keanna L. Newby, Rasean C. Moton, Robert C. Henderson and MaKeda C. Henderson; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Mattie Ree (LC) Newby–Williams and Mary Ann (Roy) Newby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
