Angela Davis Life and Times

Ms. Angela Davis, age 54, of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.

Drive through visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 12 PM at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Gordan, Alabama.

Minister Angela M. Davis (Angie) was born on January 12, 1967, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to the late Abraham and Rena Mae Hare Davis, she grew up in the Gordon/Pansey community where she got saved at a young age.  She was a 1985 graduate of Ashford High School, attended George C. Wallace Community College with a degree in accounting and Colorado Tech University with a BA degree in Criminal Justice.

Angie had many passions, reading and ministering to hurting women with social issues were the greatest.  She authored a book "Down but not out", and was working on a second book.  She was currently employed with Spectra Care.  During her journey here on Earth, Angie touched many lives.  It didn't matter who you were or where you came from, if she saw a need she was ready to try and meet it; whether through prayer, encouragement, ministering or giving.  She loved life and was always on a mission of some sort.  Angie accepted her call into the office of Ministry, in 2014, under the leadership of the late Rev. Floyd Beacham of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of Dothan, Alabama.  She became a member of House of Gods Glory Christian Fellowship of Slocomb, Alabama, in 2016, under the leadership of Pastor Q. Evans.  Lastly, she became affiliated with the Archdiocese United Christian Fellowship International, Archbishop Carl McComb Presiding Prelate/Elder Christine McComb, first lady/CEO.  Angie loved God, His people, worshipping and the work of the ministry, and her family.  Minister Angie served God with all her soul, spirit and might!

Minister Angela M. Davis (Angie) went home to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, on February 3, 2021 after an acute brief illness.  Angie struggled, most of her adult life, with illness and was a dialysis patient for 12 years.  Even through her struggles, she continued to be steadfast and immovable in her faith-walk with the Lord; all while taking care of our mom: Rena Mae.  She often gave testimony of the Lords miraculous gift of a kidney transplant on Resurrection Sunday morning in April of 2007.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Abraham and Rena Davis; sister: Jo Ann Davis-Meadows; nieces: Reginae Bush, Sandra Davis, and Frankie Dixon; grandparents: Maggie Maseline Hare, Johnny Hare, Shell Davis and Lizzie Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sisters: Maggie Mae Davis-Futch of Gordon, Alabama, Mary L. Davis-Dozier, Elder Laura Davis and Beverly K. (Edward Earl) Davis-Cole all of Dothan, Alabama; brothers: Franklin (Shirley) Davis of Gordon, Alabama, Lawrence Davis of Dothan, Alabama and Glennie Davis of Elmore, Alabama; one aunt: Emma Davis-Long of Buffalo, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  A special friend and mentor: Bishop Mattie McCombs Gaines-Williams.
