Alcuim Teenese Pearson was a beacon of light in our world, a woman who embodied love, creativity, and gentleness in her every action. Born on April 24, 1987, in Dothan, Alabama, Alcuim made a profound impact on every life she touched before she peacefully departed from us on September 13, 2023, in her beloved hometown.
The daughter of Curtis and Charlotte Pearson, Alcuim was a shining example of the values instilled in her by her loving family. She was the cherished sister of Sirnotria Pearson (Michael) of Ashford, Alabama, Andre' Brascomb of Dothan, Alabama, Thaddius Brascomb, La'Toya Stringer (Shunta) of Cottonwood, Alabama, and Joshua Jackson of Dothan, Alabama.
Though preceded in death by her grandparents Andrew Barkley, Walter Pearson, her uncles: Johnny L. Dawsey, Bobby Pearson, Phillip Barkley and Andre Barkley. Alcuim carried their memory with her throughout her life and shared their stories with her own children, Za'Myus Pearson and Avan Pearson.
Alcuim's early years were marked by the nurturing influence of her grandparents Emma Elnora Barkley and Robbie Thomas, and her aunts and uncles Margaret Butler, Morgan Barkley, Thurston Barkley, Andrew Barkley, and Phillip Barkley. The love and wisdom they imparted to Alcuim were reflected in her interactions with her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and countless friends. She was a living testament to the power of family and friendship, and her life was an illustration of how these bonds can shape and elevate us.
A graduate of Rehobeth High School, Alcuim was a lifelong learner who believed in the power of education. Her dedication to knowledge was not confined to the classroom, but was reflected in her everyday life and the wisdom she imparted to her children and those around her.
Alcuim’s passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. An avid baker, she found joy in the simple act of creating, whether that was crafting a delicious dessert or a heartfelt homemade gift. Her love for riding was not just a hobby, but a metaphor for how she approached life: with a spirit of adventure, a sense of freedom, and a joy in the journey. Alcuim's love for her family and friends was the cornerstone of her life, and she dedicated herself to nurturing these relationships with the same care and creativity she brought to her baking and crafting.
In the end, Alcuim’s life was a recipe for love, creativity, and gentleness. She mixed the ingredients of family, friendship, and passion, and baked them in the warm oven of her heart. She decorated this life with the icing of her creativity, and shared it generously with everyone she met. Alcuim’s life was a testament to the power of love, the beauty of creativity, and the peace of gentleness.
While we mourn the loss of Alcuim Teenese Pearson, we also celebrate her life and the joy she brought to us all. May we honor her memory by living our lives with the same love, creativity, and gentleness that defined hers. Let us remember Alcuim not only for the life she lived, but also for the lives she touched, the hearts she warmed, and the joy she spread. As we say goodbye to Alcuim, let us carry her spirit with us, and let her life continue to inspire us.
