Aaron Thomas III Life and Times

Mr. Aaron Thomas, III, age 60, of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Visitation will be Friday, July 2, 2021 4-6 PM at the funeral home; Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 2:00 PM at the St. Mary Baptist Church, 161 St. Mary Road, Gordon, Alabama; Under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".

Aaron Thomas, III, the third child born to Aaron, Jr. and Celestine Thomas, was born on July 8, 1960. Aaron Thomas Jr., decided he wanted a namesake , especially since the name Aaron means strong', 'teacher', and mountain of strength'. Aaron was all of these... and more.

Upon graduating from Dothan High School in 1978, Aaron obtained his bachelor's degree from Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. After college, he enlisted in the United States Army participating in the buddy system with his best friend, the late James Bland Smith. Aaron served in the army for many years, including being stationed in Germany. Upon leaving the military, Aaron moved to Nashville where he began a successful career with the United States Postal Service. He retired from the Postal Service in 2019, and moved back to Dothan, Alabama, where he remained until his untimely passing.

On June 24, 2021, God decided that he needed Aaron for a special mission. He was preceded on his journey to heaven by his parents; brothers: Fred and Harold "Spanky" Thomas; sister-in-law: Dixie Thomas; a long with seven uncles and eleven aunts.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories a son: Julian Julez Joshi (Elena), two daughters: Suna Berg (Alex) and Michelle Roth (Roven), all of Kitzingen, Germany; grandchildren: Jayla, Elaine, Yannic, Jaden and Lara, all of Kitzington, Germany; sister: Cathye Thomas Trott (Charles) of Dothan, Alabama; two uncles: Jerome Thomas (Mary) of Jacksonville, Florida and John Thomas (Alice) of Gordon, Alabama; two aunts: Hazel Hartley (Walter) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Annie Jean Cummings (James) of Gordon, Alabama; one nephew: Fred B. Thomas (Sonia) of Fort Myers, Florida; four nieces: Nikia Trott of Bermuda, Sally Jo Blue of West Palm Beach, Florida, Amanda Thomas of Orlando, Florida, and Shauntae James (Austin) of Morrisville, North Carolina; five great nephews, four great nieces, and a host of relatives and friends, all who love Aaron dearly.
