Mr. Willie Lampkin, age 85 of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 11 AM at First Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Garden of Memory Cemetery.
Willie James “Ham” Lampkin was born March 21, 1934 in Henry County Alabama to the late Will Lampkin and Gertrude “Shug” Fluker-Reeves.
Will accepted Christ at an early age. Willie married Juanita Ward Lampkin on June 17, 1988 and they were married for 30 years until her passing on September 16, 2018. He had various jobs in his life time driving trucks, doing sheetrock, and retired from the City of Dothan from driving the school bus. He was a member at First Missionary Baptist Church while attending there he served as a deacon and sang in the men’s choir for many years. He was active in the Mason until his health began to deteriorate. He had a good spirit and love to talk and tell stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife: Juanita; five brothers: Willie Lee Lampkin, Moody Lampkin, Jack Lampkin, James Lampkin, and Daniel Lampkin; three sisters: Estelle Lampkin-Johnson, Willie Blanche Lampkin-Cook, and Christine Lampkin-Kirkland; two sons: Edward Lee Mathis and
Willie Earl Lampkin.
He went to his heavenly father on October 25, 2019.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sister: Evelyn Williams and Tinnie Owens of Dothan, AL; three daughters: Sharon Lampkin of Dothan, AL, Carolyn (Thomas) Reynold of Newville AL, and Renea Mathis of Ponca City, OK. Three sons; Michael (Pam) Lampkin and Otis (Mary) Carter Jr. of Dothan, AL and Ricky Payne of Columbia, AL; sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great great-grandchildren; as a his god-daughter: Alexia Smith; a special cousin: JT Fluker; one special niece: Betty (Shelly) Watson; a favorite nephew: Tennyshon (Melissa) Kirkland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends.
